Our work ensures regulatory compliance, environmental protection, public safety, and cultural heritage preservation
With a multidisciplinary team spanning marine environmental science, subsea engineering, offshore operations, archaeology, and project management, SalvOcean provides trusted technical leadership and delivery assurance for high-risk and sensitive marine projects.
The Environment – Our Blue Oceans Campaign
Over and above the immediate costs of war is that the great majority of the thousands of ships sunk during World War 2 are now known to be ‘slicking time bombs’.
Still present in a great number of these wrecks are millions of cubic meters of unspent heavy fuel oils, munitions and hazardous noxious substances (HNS). As these wrecks decay, the containment of these materials becomes ever weaker. We are now entering the ‘danger period’ where these wrecks will start to leak their fuel oils and other HNS substances into the oceans, this danger period is expected to continue for the next 50 years.
